Chairwoman of National Assembly Committee on Social Affairs, Head of the Female Deputies Group, Truong Thi Mai, welcomed delegates from ASEAN countries attending 7th Meeting of ACW
In the afternoon on 22 October, in the Office of the National Assembly, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Social Affairs of the National Assembly, Head of the Female Deputies Group, had a courtesy meeting with the Heads of the delegations from the 10 ASEAN countries and representative of the ASEAN Secretariat attending the 7th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) in Ha Noi. Present at the meeting were H.E. Madam Huynh Thi Nhan, Standing Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and some other senior officials of relevant ministries and agencies.

The ASEAN Regional Workshop on Domestic Violence Legislation was convened from 20 – 21 October 2008 in Hanoi by the National Committee for the Advancement of Women in Vietnam and the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs. Huynh Thi Nhan, Ms. Suzette Mitchell, UNIFEM National Program Director, senior representatives from governmental, non-governmental and international organizations and delegates from ASEAN and other partner countries in the region
